Ana White – Husky Farmhouse Table

I first discovered Ana White’s blog about two months ago (I know, where have I been right??) As I was reading her “about” page, this really resonated with me “Always too afraid of power tools, I constantly would think, I could make that, if someone would cut the boards for me”  and I thought EXACTLY!!

I then went on to read that she eventually conquered her fear of power tools and that they are really not all that scary, so the cogs in my head sprang into action and I began perusing her plans, it wasn’t long before I fell in love with her Husky Farmhouse Table. I really love the big chunky legs.

So here is my first official build, hopefully the first of many. I decided to make mine a little longer than Ana’s as I wanted to get 8 chairs, comfortably, around it.

Here are a few pics of the process. Full detailed post to follow.. Some straighish 2 x 4s IMG_20130804_161243 IMG_20130810_110221 IMG_20130810_115659 IMG_20130810_115706 IMG_20130810_151943 IMG_20130820_191349 IMG_20130823_184130 IMG_20130823_184159 IMG_20130908_093303 IMG_20130908_093523 IMG_20130908_093331

  1. Right on! Congrats on your first build! It looks fantastic! Do you have a second plan in mind yet? I’ve found that once you start building (it’s so empowering), it’s tough to stop 🙂

    • Thanks Erin. I have so many things I want to build that I can’t decide!! I am also busy studying for an exam so I have to be on my best behaviour, and not get distracted, until December, boo!! Watch this space other projects in the not too distant future.

      • Yes, I know what you mean! I discovered building in the middle of school as well! I had to wait for what felt like forever ( 1 1/2 years ) to rediscover my passion 🙂

  2. I am trying to refurbish an old dining table and can not find the chunky legs I need. Will you please tell me where you found your chunky legs? Thank you!
